National Mills Weekend

National Mills Weekend is organised by SPAB (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings) Wind and Watermill section and it coincides with Real Bread Week too!

In 2017 we will be opening the Bridge Mill on the Sunday of that weekend - the 14th May 2017 from 11.00 am to 4 pm. As it will be the 20th year of opening the mill for Mills Weekend there will be special celebrations; Morris dancing and Madrigals as well as other folk songs around the theme of mills and milling.

Throughout the day there will be guided mill tours with flour being ground by water power and visitors will be able to take flour home to make some real bread!

Guided Mill Tours throughout the day

The 16 acre smallholding will be open for garden, lake, ponds and riverside walks. Come and meet the friendly animals - ducks, sheep and lambs, piglets and chicks. Wellies might be a good idea!

Bude Choral Society will be holding their annual “mammoth” plant sale throughout the day - lots of plants and lots of bargains so come early for those!

Local craftsmen will be selling and exhibiting; pottery, painting and woodland crafts

Lots to do and see!

Entrance £3.00, children 50p towards the mill restoration.

Sorry, no dogs except for guide dogs

Bude Choral Society will also be serving teas, yummy cakes and light lunches all day.

We have asked for a fine day but we do have under cover areas should the day be wet!
